At least eight Naxals are said to be killed in an encounter by C-60 commandos of Gadchiroli police on November 13 during an ongoing encounter in Kotgul-Gyarapatti forest in the early hours of Saturday.
The gunbattle took place on Saturday morning at Dhanora in the Gyarahbatti forest area in the district, when a police team was conducting a search operation.
As per the preliminary information, the Naxal fired on the police personnel, after which police retaliated.
The commandos are still searching the place. More details awaited
