Maa Saheb Jijau inculcated patriotic qualities in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and made him a personality of the character, said Dayashankar Tiwari, the Mayor.
He was speaking after offering floral tributes to the portrait of Jijau Mata in his chamber on Wednesday to mark her Jayanti. The programme was jointly organised by NMC and Jiaju Brigade. Manisha Dhawde, Deputy Mayor, Nanda Jichkar, former Mayor, Vrundatai Thakre, matatai Thorat, Minakshitai Gatfane, members of the brigade and others were present.
Tiwari further said whole credit goes to Jjaiu Mata for developing Shivaji Maharaj as a warrior.
Earlier, Tiwari also offered floral tributes to the portrait of Swami Vivekanand Maharaj to mark his jayanti and lauded the valuable services rendered by the swami in the interest of the nation.
Rajendra Uchke, Manoj Talewar, Pandurang Shinde, Shivmati Deshmukh, Sunita Jichkar, Anita Thengre, Pragati Dalvi, Nanda Atkare and others were present.
