Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched an amnesty scheme for market tax defaulters. If the default ers pay the arrears of 2021 22 in one go by May 10 then their penalty would be waived off. The market superintendent has issued an order in this regard fol lowing a directive by NMC administrator Radhakrishnan B.
Earlier, the amnesty scheme was in force till March 31, 2022. Radhakrishnan extended it till May 10 following requests by shopkeepers’ associations.
The market department recovers user charges from persons who use its shops or elevated plat forms.
If they fail to pay these charges on time they have to pay a penalty.
