Season 4 of Country’s first multisport grassroots festival ‘Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’ — to be publicized as Chak de, Khelo Nagpur Khelo — will begin in the city of Oranges from May 13.
The fourth edition of this multisport discipline will be played at almost all the corners of the city from May 13 to 28, 2022.
The organizing committee of this unique sporting extravaganza intend to make the fourth edition of KKM bigger and better. In 2022, 33 games will be played at 39 venues of the city in KKM-4.
After a pandemic gap of almost two years the dates of KKM4 were announced at a grand ceremony at Hotel Centre Point, Ramdaspeth, on Sunday. Over 1000 players and officials joined the event where Union Minister for Road and Highways Shri Nitin Gadkari, announced the dates and various sporting disciplines that will be played across all corners of the city in the fourth edition of the sporting extravaganza and distributed the flags to the association representatives.
Vijay Barse, Jhund movie fame and former sports teacher of the city, was the guest of honour and launched the KKM website — www.khasdarkridamahotsav.com.
Chief convener of the event and former mayor Sandip Joshi gave his introductory remarks.
The dignitaries also unveiled the trophies and launched of website of this multisport festival during the programme.
On the occasion, former state minister MLC Chandrashekhar Bawankule and city BJP president MLC Pravin Datke. Member of Parliament Vikas Mahatme, MLA Mohan Mate, MLA Krishna Khopde, MLA Vikas Kumbhare, MLC Nago Ganar and former city Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari shared the dais as the guests of honours.
After the formal and grand inaugural ceremony on May 13 the actual competition begins where that particular tournament will be inaugurated.
The Khasdar Krida Mahotsav is a brainchild of Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Nitinji Gadkari which provides a platform not only to the fitness enthusiasts, an amateur player but to the professional players of the city to showcase their talent in a competition format at the grassroots level.
The Chak De, Khelo Nagpur Khelo, Khasdar Krida Mahotsav is in fact a unique sports festival — Of the Nagpurian, By the Nagpurian & For the Nagpurians.
The organizing committee of the Khasdar Krida Mahotsav decided to conduct 33 games in the 16-day sporting extravaganza. The games that would be part of the fourth edition comprise of Football, Kho-Kho, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Carrom, Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, Badminton, Hockey, Chess, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Cycling, Girls Box Cricket, Wrestling, BodyBuilding, Divyang games, Archery, Taekwondo, Boxing, Rifle Shooting, Fencing, Malkhamb, Gymnastics, Bench Press Powerlifting, Yog Kriya, Judo, Soft Ball, Sepak Takraw, Handball, Tug of War, Marathon.
The first-of-its-kind event, a first for any city in India, to be conducted in 15 days will have 33 sports disciplines and will be played at around 39 venues. A total of 1064 teams, around 3765 officials and over 40,000 participants are expected to take part in the fourth edition of this historic sporting event.
During the concluding ceremony of this unique sports festival scheduled on May 28, as many as 560 Trophies, 7830 medals and a prize money of Rs 93 lakhs will be distributed amongst the podium finishers.
In addition, many individual awards will also be given during the championship. During the team event, the best player in every match will also be given an award.
