The officials of Nagpur Municipal Corporation took review of the heavy rains that lashed the city on Thursday resulting in water-logging at different places, disturbances to traffic and disruption of normal life and took precautionary measures.
Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator of NMC along with top officers saw the position during rains through Shraddhey Atal Bihari Vajpayee City Operation Centre (COC) and gave direct instructions to the administration for taking action in water-logged areas to solve problems of the residents. Many citizens got immediate relief due to this on the spot system.

The COC has been installed in NMC HQ that helps keep security arrangement in the city through 3600 CCTVs. The NMC has deployed the machinery to deal with emergency cases during monsoon by watching cameras through emergency operation centre. The Municipal Commissioner saw the situations in Shankar Nagar, Manewada Road, Automotive Chowk, Kriplani Chowk, Central Avenue, Medical Chowk, Vitabhatti Chowk, Kalamna, Pardi and other areas.
The control room of the corporation is active for 24 hours in view of possible emergency situation arising due to heavy rains.
