CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) has organised Dr Ashok S. Juwarkar Memorial Lecture at its auditorium at 11.30 AM on July 14. Dr Sanjay Deshmukh, Professor of Life Sciences and former Vice-Chancellor, University of Mumbai will speak on ‘Restoring ecosystems for people, nature and climate’.
Ashok S Juwarkar Memorial Lecture is organised every year as a tribute to the Former Head of Land Environment and Management Division at NEERI. Several wastelands, belonging to Manganese Ore India Limited in Maharashtra, Western Coalfields Limited in Madhya Pradesh and Kudremukh Iron Ore Company Limited in Karnataka, were rejuvenated under the supervision of late Dr Juwarkar.
