The Achievers School, Nagpur, celebrates ‘OORJA’ with great fanfare.

True to the spirit of the Achievers, the young sport-stars of The Achievers School, Nagpur, were full on their energy meters while participating in ‘OORJA’ the Annual Sports Meet.

The Annual Sports Meet ‘OORJA’ of The Achievers School was held on 22nd and 23rd December, at the sprawling green campus of the school, situated near Wardha Road, Nagpur.
The event is organised every year to ensure that the students get a platform to showcase their undaunted sportsman spirit.

The highlight of Day 1 was the theme ‘Bharat ki Udaan’ where the Achievements of the Indian players, in various National and International Games were celebrated by the tiny tots. The toddlers expressed their respect towards the Indian Sports Achievers by dressing up in the respective sports costumes and running on the tracks.

The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Sandesh Raman Khare, a renowned National Judge and National Coach for Yoga. He advised the students to regularly take part in sports activities and keep themselves fit by practicing yogasanas. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Vaibhav Shrirame, a Inter National level Yoga player. He shared his real life experiences and advised the students to be diligent and put in hard work to achieve their goals.

The Day 2 was focussed more on the sports skills. Students of classes 3 to 10 participated in various track and field events. These included the spectacular obstacles race, the long jump, shot put and javelin throw events, along with the regular flat races and relay races.
The highlight of the day was the Triathlon race, which included cycling, wading through knee deep water and running on the tracks.

The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Vijay Munishwar, who is a Shiv Chatrapati Awardee (1990-91) and Arjuna Awardee(2000). In his address he advised the parents to keep their children away form junk food and include indigenous herbs in their diet. He also advocated the importance of pranayam in the daily routine. The Guest of Honour was Ms. Prachi Parkhi, who was a Coach of Indian Gymnastics team for Asian Championship(2022), inspired the students with her varied experience.

As the sports meet was held on the day preceding the Christmas vacation, the day concluded with the children singing Christmas Carols and wishing the audience Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

It is noteworthy that the school provides its students with ample opportunities to showcase their talents at the intra-school and inter-school levels. It also aids them in enhancing their skills sets and talents in their chosen fields. Dr. Priyadarshini Deoghare, Director-Academics & Principal, appreciated the efforts of the students. She applauded the Mentors who had trained the students for the events, Mrs. Pallavi Pandit, Music Mentor, and Miss Yogeeta Divecha, the Language Mentor.
