The Youth Tiger Force of Vidarbha Rajye Andolan Samiti staged demonstrations at Jagnade Square on Friday. Besides demanding carving out of separate Vidarbha, the youth raised issues relating to increasing unemployment in the region.
The Committee had raised slogans on the long pending demand of separate Vidarbha, during the Marathi Sahitya Sammelan at Wardha. A large number of activists of the Committee were detained by the police. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had assured to listen to their demands, which restricted police action against the activists.
The problems faced by the farmers were also raised.
The agitation was led by Mukesh Masurkar, Naresh Nimje, Jyoti Khandekar, Parag Vairagade and others.
