CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI) organized an expert lecture on “Artificial Intelligence for Everyone” under the ‘JIGYASA’ programme. This lecture was delivered by Dr. Manish Kurhekar, Associate Professor and Dean, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur.
Dr. Kurhekar elaborated the concept of artificial intelligence (AI) to school children in a very simple language to draw their interest towards this subject. He highlighted the different domains where artificial intelligence plays a major role and how artificial intelligence can assist to solve environmental problems. Dr. Kurhekar motivated the students to explore the boundless applications of artificial intelligence and cherish the brilliance of human intellect behind every innovation and creation.
Dr. Atul Vaidya, Director, CSIR-NEERI inspired the students to become contributors to the ever-evolving world of artificial intelligence. He advised students to envision their role in shaping an AI-driven future. The students interacted with the speaker and clarified their doubts about AI. 150 students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, CRPF, Nagpur, Rahi Central School, Nagpur and The Radiance School, Nagpur attended the lecture.
