Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of the Nagpur Crime Branch uncovered a sex racket operating under the guise of a massage parlour at Heaven Spa in Bajaj Nagar on Tuesday. The spa, located above The Hair Club Salon near SBI Bank, was raided following a tip-off.
During the operation, a 36-year-old woman, Seema Anshul Bawangade, was apprehended. Bawangade, a resident of Buddha Nagar near Kamal Chowk, was previously implicated in a case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Gittikhadan Police Station.
Investigations revealed that the accused lured women and young girls with financial promises, persuading them to engage in prostitution under the pretext of employment at the spa. The police rescued three victims during the raid and seized evidence, including cash and materials worth ₹37,385.
A case has been registered against Bawangade at Bajaj Nagar Police Station under Section 143 of the BNS and Sections 4, 5, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
The operation was spearheaded by SSB Police Inspector Kavita Isarkar, supported by personnel including Laxman Chaure, Ajay Paunikar, Sameer Shaikh, Kunal Masram, Nitin Vasne, Lata Gawai, and driver Poonam Shende.
