Marking a historic milestone in Indian Railways, the Nagpur Division of Central Railway has commenced grand celebrations to commemorate 100 Years of Railway Electrification, a transformative journey that began on 3rd February 1925 with the first electric train service between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Kurla in Mumbai.
The electrification of Indian Railways revolutionized train travel, enhancing efficiency, reducing delays, cutting operational costs, and eliminating dependence on coal-powered steam engines, thus ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable rail network.
