The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to enhance the landscape of Narendra Nagar by electrifying the area beneath the flyover as part of a new initiative. The project, titled “Landscape Development By Electrification,” has an estimated cost of ₹17,47,122. NMC has mandated that licensed electrical contractors registered within the appropriate class in their Lighting Department be qualified to undertake the work.
The project will not only illuminate the area but also includes the installation of poles, luminaries, and other necessary electrical components designated to ensure efficient lighting. The specifications call for the use of disparate materials, including high-quality steel poles, advanced LED luminaries, and other essential accessories.
The financial requirements for participation include an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹17,500, which is non-refundable and serves to secure the commitment from contractors. Additionally, successful bidders will be required to maintain a total security deposit, equating to 2% of the contract value.
With a timeline of 120 days for completion, this electrification project aims to significantly improve the safety and aesthetics of the region. Furthermore, after the completion of the project, there will be a defect liability period of one year during which the contractors must ensure the quality and functionality of the installations.
This initiative reflects NMC’s commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and promoting public safety through better lighting solutions in Nagpur’s urban landscape.
