With February advancing, Vidarbha, including Nagpur, is witnessing a noticeable shift in weather patterns. While daytime temperatures are rising, bringing a sense of early summer, nighttime temperatures have dipped slightly, introducing a mild chill.
On Wednesday, Nagpur recorded a maximum temperature of 35.1°C, reflecting a two-degree increase in just two days. The intensifying heat is making the sun’s presence more pronounced. Other districts such as Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Wardha, Amravati, and Akola also saw daytime highs ranging between 35°C and 36°C, with Washim peaking at 36°C. These temperatures are 2 to 3 degrees above the seasonal average, amplifying the daytime warmth.
Despite warmer days, nights have turned cooler. Nagpur registered a minimum temperature of 16.4°C on Wednesday, marking a three-degree drop. Although still above the usual range, this slight dip suggests that the lingering effects of the cold wave persist in some areas. Akola and Bhandara districts have also reported a similar trend.
Most other districts, however, continue to experience nighttime temperatures between 18°C and 20°C.
Meteorologists predict that cold northern winds may reach parts of Maharashtra, leading to slightly lower temperatures in the early morning hours, particularly around 5 a.m. While a significant drop in temperature is unlikely, Nagpur remains affected by these changing weather conditions.
