A leopard cub that had fallen into a fish tank in a field in Parseoni forest range was safely rescued by the forest department on Monday.
The incident was reported by Forest Range Officer Anil Bhagat to the Transit Treatment Center, following which a rescue operation was launched. A team led by Forest Guard Prashant Kolhe and former State Wildlife Board member Kundan Hate, along with forest personnel Bandu Mangar, Chetan Barskar, Swapnil Bhure, Komal Gajbhiye, and Swapnil Dongre, successfully rescued the cub from the water tank.
The cub has been taken to the Transit Treatment Center for medical evaluation and care. Meanwhile, forest officials are searching for its mother, and if found, efforts will be made to reunite them.
