After an early onset of summer in Vidarbha, the region is set to witness a sudden weather shift, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing orange and yellow alerts for various districts between March 20 and 22.
The IMD has placed Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gondia, Wardha, and Yavatmal under an orange alert for March 21, while Washim and Gondia will remain on orange alert for March 22. These districts are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph, and hailstorms at isolated locations.
Scattered rainfall is also likely in several parts of Vidarbha on March 20 and 21, with a gradual drop of 2-4 degrees Celsius in maximum temperature expected over the next few days. However, no significant temperature change is anticipated in the next 48 hours.
