The deadline for installing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP) has been extended once again, now set for June 30. The decision was made by the transport commissioner due to the low number of vehicles that have been fitted with HSRP so far.
So far, around 18 lakh vehicles have installed the high-security number plates. Initially, the deadline was March 30, which was later extended to April 30. This marks the third extension granted for the mandatory installation.
Despite the deadline extensions, the implementation of HSRP has been met with controversies. However, from April 1, 2025, high-security number plates will become mandatory for all vehicles across the state.
