With Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to visit Nagpur on March 30, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has launched an extensive preparation drive to enhance infrastructure and security. Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari is leading the efforts, ensuring smooth traffic flow and public safety along the PM’s route.
The NMC has prioritized road maintenance, particularly on key routes the PM’s convoy will take. Potholes are being filled, and road surfaces are being repaired. The Wardha Road double-decker flyover near Ajni Metro station, previously neglected due to jurisdictional issues, has undergone urgent repairs to accommodate VVIP movements.
To ensure a cleaner and more organized cityscape, unauthorized hoardings and encroachments along the PM’s route are being removed. This effort aims to enhance security and provide an unobstructed path for the entourage.
Fire tenders and emergency response teams will be strategically stationed along the route and at the event venue as a precautionary measure. These deployments will ensure quick response in case of any unforeseen incidents.
Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari emphasized, “Ensuring the city’s readiness for the Prime Minister’s visit is our top priority. We are committed to implementing all necessary measures for a smooth and secure event.”
With these preparations, Nagpur is gearing up to host the Prime Minister, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to civic responsibility and efficient urban management.
