The Maharashtra Cabinet on Tuesday approved the proposal to establish special courts at Gondi, Washim, and Ratnagiri to expedite the disposal of cases related to atrocities against women.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, also approved the creation of posts of one District and Additional Sessions Judge, one stenographer, one superintendent, one senior clerk, and one junior clerk on a regular basis, and one Hawaldar and one Peon by outsourcing. So far, 27 such special courts have been established for the speedy disposal of cases relating to atrocities against women.
The cabinet also approved Rs 2,39,78,000 for these special courts.
