Record 42K Maha Card Users in a Day, 1,300 Cards Issued Under Free Campaign
Maha Metro has consistently been at the forefront of embracing digital initiatives to enhance commuter convenience. Maha Card, one of the most popular digital ticketing options, has seen growing patronage over time. The huge surge in use of Maha Card as a ticketing option could be understood from the fact that as many as 42,257 rode using the Card in a single day!!
This happened yesterday i.e. 5th August – the day Maha Metro Nagpur logged a significant 1.07 lakh Ridership. In fact, 42,257 is the highest ever rides using the Maha Card and accounts for 39 % of the total ridership. Additionally, overall cashless travel constituted 56 % of the day’s ridership – which again is a milestone – reflecting the success of digital adoption initiatives.
But that’s not all. On 25th July 2025, Maha Metro had launched campaign to provide free Maha Card for a to-up of ₹ 200. The campaign evoked a very good response and till now, about 1,300 cards have already been issued to new commuters. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Team Maha Metro to promote and expand Maha Card usage, significant progress has been made.
As mentioned earlier, Nagpur Metro logged 56 % cashless travel on 5th August. This effectively means that digital payment options have been embraced by the citizens in a big way and cashless commute is slowly becoming the order of the day.
