Public awareness is a must for successful Operation Shakti, says city police
College students from across the city, along with a large number of auto drivers, participated in Operation Shakti — a city police initiative to combat human trafficking — at a humble event held at Jhansi Rani Square on Wednesday morning.

Mahak Swami (IPS), DCP-EOW, urged attendees to support the police in eradicating human trafficking and expressed satisfaction that the youth of Nagpur are stepping forward to fulfill their social responsibilities. Nityanand Jha (IPS), DCP Zone 2, was also present at the event.

Vitthal Singh Rajput, Sr PI of Sitabuldi Police Station, appreciated the powerful street play performed by Young India Unchained (YIU) volunteers and NSS members, noting that public awareness is crucial for the success of Operation Shakti.

Mosami Katre, PSI, Sitabuldi PS, shared key information about reporting crimes and how citizens can approach the police with ease.
Dignitaries also initiated the pasting of Operation Shakti awareness posters on autos. Auto drivers, college students, social workers, and citizens took a pledge to support the prevention and reporting of crimes.
