In a major step towards inclusivity in the judiciary, the Maharashtra government has launched a free 11-month coaching programme for the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) competitive exam. Eligible candidates will also receive a scholarship of ₹1.22 lakh each.
Covers All Exam Stages
The coaching programme will prepare students for all three stages of the JMFC exam — prelims, mains, and interview. It is aimed at students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), the Matang community, Maratha, and Kunbi Maratha categories.
CET Applications Open Till August 20, 2025
Admission to the coaching programme will be through a Common Entrance Test (CET), for which online applications are open until August 20, 2025.
Eligibility Criteria
SC/ST Candidates (via BARTI, ARTI, TRTI): Must hold an LLB degree or be in the final year. ST applicants must also submit a caste validity certificate.
Maratha and Kunbi Maratha Candidates (via SARTHI): Only LLB graduates are eligible. Age limit is 21–38 years for Maratha and Kunbi Maratha students, and 21–40 years for SC/ST candidates.
