With a large number of professionals and students returning home to celebrate Raksha Bandhan, airlines have reduced fares on several key routes. Passengers travelling to Nagpur are witnessing comparatively lower ticket prices this festive week, though rates are expected to spike again during Dussehra and Diwali.
Currently, one-way airfare from Mumbai to Nagpur is available at ₹4,350, down from ₹6,938 earlier. Similarly, fares from New Delhi to Nagpur have dropped to ₹5,248 from ₹6,096. Pune to Nagpur flights are priced at ₹5,313 compared to the previous ₹6,655. However, air travel from Hyderabad to Nagpur remains expensive, with tickets priced at ₹11,690, slightly lower than the earlier ₹13,397.
In comparison, fares from Hyderabad to Mumbai, Delhi, and Pune are still significantly cheaper, making the Hyderabad–Nagpur route the costliest among major connections.
Travel agents say the relief in fares is temporary, largely because of the immediate travel demand for Raksha Bandhan. However, fares are expected to surge again during Dussehra, Ganesh Chaturthi, and Diwali, when passenger movement will increase sharply. During peak festive days, tickets could touch ₹20,000–₹25,000 for premium last-minute bookings.
According to travel estimates, during Diwali, Mumbai–Nagpur flights may cost between ₹4,350 and ₹4,459, while Pune–Nagpur fares could be around ₹5,840 one way.
