In the high-profile Ramjula accident case, the court has ordered a fresh police investigation after accepting a review petition.
The incident dates back to the early morning of 3rd January 2024, when a speeding Mercedes car lost control and crashed near Ramjula, reportedly killing a youth on the spot. At the time, the case stirred significant controversy due to allegations of negligence in the investigation and the accused’s influential background.
The victim, identified as 32-year-old [victim’s name not mentioned in clipping], was reportedly returning home when the accident occurred. CCTV footage and forensic reports were key pieces of evidence in the case, but questions were raised about their handling.
The court, acknowledging lapses in the initial probe, has now directed that the matter be investigated afresh by the police. The order came after the victim’s family filed a review petition, demanding an impartial and thorough inquiry.
This decision has renewed hope for justice among the victim’s relatives, who had alleged that earlier proceedings were biased and incomplete. Police sources said they will reopen the case file and examine all technical and witness evidence once again.
