Nagpur: A suspected human skeleton, believed to be of a woman, was unearthed during road construction near Besa Power House under the jurisdiction of Sakkardara Police Station, raising suspicions of a Drishyam-style attempt to destroy evidence.
The discovery was made when labourers, engaged in road excavation, spotted skeletal remains and immediately alerted the police. Senior officers, accompanied by a forensic science team, arrived at the site to examine the scene and collect evidence.
According to sources, a saree was also recovered alongside the remains, leading investigators to believe the body could be that of a female. Preliminary assessments suggest the remains may have been buried long ago, with the subsequent road construction possibly used as a means to conceal the crime.
The skeleton has been sent for forensic analysis to confirm whether it is human, determine the cause of death, and establish the identity of the deceased. Police have registered a case and initiated a probe into the suspected murder and cover-up.
