The Regional Meteorological Centre, Nagpur, has issued a warning indicating a likely increase in rainfall intensity and distribution across the Vidarbha region over the next 4–5 days.
Between August 13 and 15, 2025, several areas in Vidarbha are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds blowing at speeds of 40–50 kmph.
According to the IMD, daytime temperatures are expected to remain between 22°C and 25°C during this period, which is below the seasonal average, while humidity levels will range from 77% to 90%.
Orange Alert (13 August 2025):
Districts such as Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, and Bhandara may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6–204.4 mm) with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph. Residents are advised to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
Yellow Alert (14 August 2025):
Widespread moderate to heavy rainfall is likely in Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, and surrounding areas. Some places may experience heavy rainfall (64.5–115.5 mm) with wind speeds of 40–50 kmph.
