Vidarbha’s healthcare sector is set for a big upgrade as the Maharashtra Government inks an MoU with Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek to build a 350-bed multi-specialty hospital in Nagpur. With an investment of up to ₹700 crore, the project is expected to create nearly 3,000 direct jobs.
The agreement was signed in Navi Mumbai in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and Acting Transport Minister Jeffrey Siow. Nagpur District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar represented the state government in signing the MoU.
Although the exact site is yet to be decided, officials suggest the hospital will likely be built in the MIHAN area, aiming to develop it into a healthcare hub for central India. The facility will provide advanced multi-specialty services to serve both local and regional patients.
Gan Kim Yong, known for his role in strengthening Singapore’s global economic ties, emphasised that the collaboration reflects deepening India-Singapore relations in critical sectors such as healthcare. “This project will not only enhance medical services but also create employment and contribute to the region’s overall development,” he said.
Officials said the partnership reflects a shared goal of bringing world-class medical care to Nagpur by blending Indian expertise with international investment and high operational standards.
