Nagpur: Crime Branch has cracked a shocking case in which a 50-year-old woman was allegedly lured with a fake job offer, raped, and robbed of valuables worth ?90,500 in Pratapnagar. The accused, identified as Rajneeshkumar Ramkripal Dubey (50), a native of Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested after a coordinated investigation by multiple units.
The incident took place on August 22 when the victim, returning home after work, was approached by the accused offering ?500 for cleaning utensils for an hour. He then took her to an abandoned building, sexually assaulted her, and fled after snatching her gold ornaments and cash.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case and launched an investigation. Cyber Cell, Chain Snatching Squad, and Crime Branch Units 1 and 4 traced the accused and laid a trap to nab him. He later confessed to the crime during interrogation. Further investigation is underway.
