Keeping in mind the increasing environmental problem of noise pollution, a public awareness program was organized by India Metrological Society, Nagpur Branch, Nagpur in association with Vanrai Foundation and Press Club, Nagpur at Press Club, Civil line, Nagpur , under the chairmanship of Dr. Girish Gandhi, the chief guest was Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Kumar Singal, IPS, Dr. Shrikant T. S., Scientist, RMC, Nagpur and shri Shirish Borkar, secretary, press club, Nagpur were the guests of honour and Shri Nilesh Khandekar was grace the program. Dr. Ravindra Akre, Secretary, I. M. S., Nagpur Branch, Nagpur was the coordinator of the program.
Dr. Singal said in his speech that there is a need for public awareness on noise pollution, vehicles are honking unnecessarily, and everyone should make efforts to control this increasing pollution. Dr. Gandhi expressed satisfaction with the organization of the special program.
Dr. Shrikant and Shri Shirish Borkar suggested the solutions. Dr. Akre made the introduction and called for organizing many such programs in other parts of the
city.
Dr. Shantibhushan Lunge, Dr. Puran Meshram, Prabhakar Godbole, Manish
Ghormade, Sanjay Bidyanta, Mahesh Kanholkar, Shyam Ashtikar, Sunil Pawar,
Shashank Pimplapure were prominently present in the program. Shri Khandekar
expressed vote of thanks. Manjusha Pandey, Shubhada, Pandurangji Wakade, Advocate Anand Gadge, Sudhakar Sharma, Umesh Kawale, Mohan Nimbalkar and others worked hard to make the program a success.
