Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule today conducted a surprise visit to the Sub-Registrar’s Office in Saoner taluka of Nagpur district, where he found clear evidence of mismanagement.
During the inspection, the Sub-Registrar officer was absent from duty. The attendance register did not contain staff names or signatures, and employees were found without official identity cards. Disturbingly, several unauthorized individuals with no official connection to the office were seen moving about freely inside the premises.
Citizens present at the office voiced several complaints regarding the functioning of the Sub-Registrar, citing poor service delivery, lack of transparency, and inappropriate behavior by staff.
Taking immediate note of the situation, Minister Bawankule contacted the Inspector General of Registration over phone, apprising him of the incident and instructing a thorough inquiry followed by strict action as per rules. He also directed the District Collector and the local Deputy Superintendent of Police to take the citizens’ grievances seriously and ensure corrective measures.
