MSEDCL was honoured with the ‘World Record of Excellence’ award from England in recognition of the massive public participation in its “Zero Electrical Accidents” awareness campaign. The campaign’s mentor, MSEDCL Chairman and Managing Director Shri. Lokesh Chandra, and Director (Human Resources) Shri. Rajendra Pawar, were also recognized with international certificates for their effective implementation of the campaign.
At a ceremony in Mumbai, the ‘World Record of Excellence’ international certificate and memento were accepted by MSEDCL’s Director (Human Resources) Shri. Rajendra Pawar and Officer on Special Duty Shri. Mangesh Kohat. The event was graced by prominent figures including renowned psychologist Dr. Diwakar Sukul (London), noted scientist Dr. Madhu Krishnan (USA), and senior editor and former minister Shri. Rajendra Darda. The selection committee praised MSEDCL’s public-centric electrical safety campaign. The committee included Shri. Henry R (Europe), President of the World Record of Excellence; Shri. Pablo (England), Head; Shri. Sanjay Panjwani, Vice President; and examiner Shri. Chandrashekhar Shinde.
In a brief meeting, Chairman and Managing Director Shri. Lokesh Chandra commended all officers and employees for the global recognition of the campaign’s record public participation. He emphasized that the goal of zero electrical accidents is an integral part of MSEDCL’s daily work and instructed them to continue engaging with the public through various initiatives to provide constant information on electrical safety. Also present were Director (Human Resources) Shri. Rajendra Pawar, Executive Director Shri. Paresh Bhagwat, Chief General Manager Shri. Bhushan Kulkarni, and Officer on Special Duty Shri. Mangesh Kohat.
‘World Record of Excellence’ is a globally recognized institution based in England. The organization declared the public participation in MSEDCL’s electrical safety campaign an international record and presented the award at a ceremony in Mumbai. The event was attended by dignitaries from various fields from the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Nepal, and India.
To mark its 20th anniversary, MSEDCL organized various electrical safety awareness programs across the state from June 1st to 6th. A total of over 211,000 citizens, students, engineers, officials, and employees participated directly. Additionally, electrical safety messages were sent to over 19.27 million customers via SMS to their registered mobile numbers and to over 3.57 million customers via registered email. The campaign has recently been recognized by the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for five participation records, and now it has an international record to its name.
