Nagpur: The Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Nagpur, a well-known business school situated about 35 km from the city on Katol Road, has come under the scanner after objectionable videos showing students involved in inappropriate activities within the campus went viral on social media.
Videos Raise Alarm
One of the videos allegedly captures hostel students, including a male and a few female students, preparing a banned substance for smoking. Another clip shows a girl student consuming it in the canteen area of the institute.
Prestigious Institute, Troubling Revelations
Spread across 27 acres of greenery, IMT Nagpur is regarded as one of Central India’s leading management institutes, offering flagship PGDM programs in Marketing and Finance. Known for producing corporate professionals, the institute’s reputation is now at stake amid growing claims that such practices have become common in hostel premises, with little intervention from the authorities.
Administration Unresponsive
Attempts to reach out to campus manager Ashish Kale, who is said to play a key administrative role, went unanswered. Emails sent to the institute’s official address also drew no response.
Credibility Under Question
The administration’s silence has intensified concerns among parents and students, raising questions about campus safety and accountability. Critics argue that reputed institutions must take strict measures to prevent such incidents, or risk creating unsafe environments that undermine students’ future.
