Nagpur once again witnessed a shocking crime on Friday afternoon when a 16-year-old schoolgirl was brutally murdered in broad daylight. The incident occurred at Gulmohar Colony under the Ajni Police Station area, where a minor boy allegedly stabbed the girl multiple times, leading to her death on the spot. The attack created panic in the locality, prompting immediate police intervention.
According to police sources, the deceased was a student of St. Anthony’s School, Ajni. After school hours, while she was on her way home, the accused— a minor resident of Rambagh area— called her to meet him. An argument reportedly broke out between the two, during which the boy pulled out a knife from his pocket and attacked her repeatedly.
The girl succumbed to her injuries at the scene, and the accused fled immediately after the assault. Police rushed to the spot, conducted a panchnama, and sent the body for post-mortem. A murder case has been registered, and a search operation has been launched to trace the absconding accused.
