In the shocking murder of a teenage girl in Ajni, police investigations have revealed that the 17-year-old suspect had bought the knife used in the attack from an online shopping site just four days before the incident.
Authorities said the minor hid his mobile phone after the crime and has not revealed its location. The phone is believed to contain crucial information about his planning and mindset leading up to the attack. Ajni Police said the accused works as a caretaker. His father has a long criminal history, with almost 40 cases, including chain-snatching and murder. The boy lives in Rambagh with his mother, who is also a caretaker, and his brother and sister.
The victim’s mother is a caretaker nurse. The girl had been friends with the accused for two years, but over the past month, he thought she was avoiding him. Police believe this caused repeated arguments between them. Police said the boy decided to take her life.
Mortuary Room Locks Broken
Relatives of a deceased girl allegedly broke the locks of the mortuary room at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) around 3 a.m. on Saturday. According to Ajni Police, three relatives had been consuming alcohol outside the mortuary late Friday night before forcibly breaking the locks of two doors. The medical administration confirmed that the body remained secure inside the freezer.
Following the incident, the Maharashtra Security Force filed a complaint at Ajni Police Station, and a case against the three accused was registered late Saturday night.
Investigations revealed that the accused had ordered the knife online, carried it with him, and used it in the brutal attack. After stabbing the girl, he left the knife at the scene and fled on a scooter. Police also discovered that he had hidden the blood-stained clothes he wore during the murder.
The crime occurred on Friday afternoon near St. Anthony School in Ajni. The boy blocked the girl’s path and attacked her with a knife. She was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead.
The police produced the minor in the Juvenile Court, which granted them one day for questioning. The investigation is ongoing. After leaving the knife at the scene, the minor fled on a scooter and went to a relative’s house in the Gangabai Ghat area. There, he allegedly burned his blood-stained clothes and mobile phone, changed into fresh clothes, and later hid the scooter at another relative’s house on Nara Road. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch traced the minor through CCTV footage and arrested him.
