On 2nd September 2025, Shri Mujahid Khan, Ticket Examiner (TE/NGP), displayed remarkable alertness and compassion while on duty at Nagpur Station. During routine ticket checking in the general coach of Train No. 12792, he noticed a child running around restlessly, followed by two other children.
Sensing something unusual, Shri Khan acted promptly and brought all three children together. With presence of mind, he contacted their family members over the phone to verify their details. It was then revealed that the families had already lodged a missing complaint at their village police station (Bhadohi, Orai). The children, all minors, had left home due to fear of scolding.
Shri Khan took immediate care of the children by providing them food and ensuring their safety. Subsequently, he handed them over to the RPF in the presence of the Child Helpline for further assistance.
Apart from being the Captain and Goalkeeper of the Indian Railways Hockey Team, Shri Mujahid Khan has once again proved himself a true guardian in railway service—protecting not just passengers through ticket checking, but also safeguarding young lives.
