Nagpur: MLC Sandip Joshi has been unanimously re-elected as president of the Nagpur District Basketball Association (NDBA) during its Annual General Meeting (AGM). Along with his re-election, Joshi was also entrusted with the responsibility of forming the new executive committee.
Addressing members at the AGM, Joshi assured that his efforts would not remain limited to the club or the association but would focus on the collective growth of basketball and the welfare of players. He highlighted that the Maharashtra State Basketball Association (MSBA) had resolved its earlier disputes and was beginning anew.
Joshi announced several initiatives, including cash prizes for players in all championships and an incentive of ?50,000 for those achieving success at national-level tournaments. He further revealed that, in his role as MSBA president, he plans to allocate nearly ?1 crore from his MLC fund to boost the sport.
The AGM was attended by Adv. Abhay Kaple, Ramesh Bakshi, Shatrughna Gokhale, Bhavesh Kuchanwar, Anup Rajurkar, Dattu Khare, Suresh Bhukre, Mahesh Updeo, Pranay Ghate, Satish Shinde, Arun Dani, Abhay Chorghade, along with several newly inducted club officials. On this occasion, six new clubs were also granted affiliation with the NDBA.
