Company’s Statement
Mother Dairy had earlier announced (on September 4) its intent to pass on GST benefits to customers. Responding to the GST Council’s decision, Manish Bandlish, Managing Director of Mother Dairy, said:
“We appreciate the Union Government’s move to reduce GST rates on a wide range of dairy products, including paneer, cheese, ghee, butter, UHT milk, milk-based beverages, and ice creams. This will give a significant push to packaged categories, which are becoming household favourites, and drive stronger demand in the future.”
He further added that lower tax slabs will encourage greater adoption of packaged, value-added dairy products, boost consumer confidence in quality offerings, and make wholesome dairy nutrition more accessible to families.
Mother Dairy, one of India’s leading dairy brands, reported a turnover of ₹17,500 crore last year.
