The launch was made possible through the sustained efforts of Member of Parliament Praful Patel. The new service is expected to benefit Gondia and surrounding districts in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, providing a fresh impetus to business, education, and tourism in the region.

The 72-seater service aims to offer convenient travel options for both business travelers and the general public.
Former MLA Rajendra Jain, speaking at the event, credited MP Praful Patel for bringing direct connectivity between Gondia and Bengaluru. He also revealed that flights from Gondia to Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi are likely to begin soon, further enhancing trade and connectivity with India’s key metros.
It is worth recalling that Patel had earlier played a role in facilitating Indigo flights from Birsi Airport to Hyderabad and Tirupati. The launch of the Gondia–Indore–Bengaluru route marks another milestone in the airport’s expansion.
Jain also appealed to citizens to make full use of the upgraded facilities at Birsi Airport and support the growing flight network.
