With the start of Navratri festivities on September 22, Nagpur Police’s Traffic Branch has issued special traffic regulations for the routes leading to the Jagdamba Temple in Koradi, which witnesses massive footfall during the nine-day festival. The measures aim to ease congestion and ensure safe movement of devotees.
Key Restrictions
Ban on Four-Wheelers and Heavy Vehicles: Except two-wheelers, all vehicles coming from the Chhindwara side will not be allowed on the service road beside the flyover leading to the temple. Buses and other heavy vehicles must take a right turn on Chhindwara Road towards Khaparkheda to reach the temporary bus stand inside the temple premises.
Auto-rickshaws: A temporary stand has been created ahead of the flyover, with their entry on the bridge strictly prohibited.
Two-Wheelers: Riders heading to Khaparkheda from the Nanda bypass may use this stretch, but entry towards the Koradi temple is restricted. Temple-bound two-wheelers will be allowed only through the main entrance gate.
Cycles and Two-Wheelers from Mouza Mahadula: Special space has been allocated in the open ground near the area to accommodate their parking.
Crowd Management
Authorities expect heavy rush both during the day and at night as devotees gather to offer prayers at Koradi’s Jagdamba Temple. To manage the flow, the district administration and city police have coordinated elaborate crowd-control and traffic management plans to ensure hassle-free entry and exit for worshippers.
