Nagpur: City Police intensified their pre-festive security push with a ten-day combing operation across Zone-4, leading to the arrest of seven wanted criminals and the recovery of 50 stolen two-wheelers worth about ₹25 lakh.
Between September 11 and 20, 2025, officers from every police station under the zone scoured neighbourhoods identified as crime hotspots. Acting under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-4) Rashmita Rao, the nightly drives ran from 7 pm to 11 pm, deploying more than 40 personnel, including senior officers and constables.
The crackdown yielded significant results: 136 suspects were verified, 22 persons were booked for suspicious movement, and multiple offences were registered—10 cases of illicit liquor trade, four of gambling, three under the NDPS Act for drug possession and two under the Arms Act.
A major highlight was the Hudkeshwar raid, where brothers Ritik and Rishabh Asopa were arrested in Crime No. 625/25. Investigators seized 50 stolen motorcycles and scooters, dealing a heavy blow to a citywide vehicle-theft racket.
Senior officials said the operation, timed ahead of Navratri, Dussehra and Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, was aimed at reinforcing public confidence and deterring criminal activity during the busy festive season.
