The Yashwantrao Chavan Social Forum, in association with Ward No. 16 of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC), will host a vibrant Vijayadashami (Dussehra) celebration on October 2 at the Municipal premises in East Samarth Nagar.
A major highlight of the event will be the ‘Ravan Dahan’ ceremony, featuring a 40-foot effigy of Ravan crafted by Khemkaran Singh and Amar Binawar. This year marks the 28th edition of the traditional celebration, which draws large crowds every year.
Adding to the festive spirit, a spectacular firecracker show by Dhondibaji Parasram Karwatkar will light up the evening sky. The programme will open with a special Ramlila performance based on the theme “Nagari Ho Ayodhyasi” from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm, setting the tone for the evening’s cultural festivities.
