Crime Branch Unit-5 arrested two men with mephedrone worth ₹10,000 near Domino’s Pizza at MB Town Square, Kalamna, around 8 pm on September 24. Acting on specific intelligence, the team intercepted a white Swift car and detained Mukesh alias Raja Ishwardayal Thakre (27) of Kapasi Khurd and Raj Ravindra Mankar (23) of Nageshwar Nagar.
A search in the presence of witnesses yielded 2.40 grams of MD powder in a zip-lock pouch, along with two mobile phones, ₹3,570 in cash and the Swift car—collectively valued at ₹6.43 lakh. During interrogation, the duo confessed they sourced the drug from wanted accused Kartik Kannake of Kapasi Khurd.
Police registered an offence under Sections 8(c), 22(b) and 29 of the NDPS Act at Kalamna Police Station. The pair was handed over to local police for further action while efforts to trace the supplier continue.
