In a swift and commendable action on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti dry day, Durga Marshal women constables of Beltarodi police station seized a huge stock of liquor worth ?1.05 lakh from an auto-rickshaw near Besa Square on Thursday evening.

According to police, on October 2, 2025, around 6 pm, Durga Marshal women constables Priyanka and Mitali received a tip-off that an auto was illegally transporting country-made and Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) in the Besa Square area. Acting promptly, the team reached the spot and intercepted the vehicle. Upon checking, a large quantity of liquor was found stored inside the auto.
The entire stock, along with the vehicle, was seized. Police registered an offence against the auto driver under sections 65 and 68 of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act.
Officials informed that the seized material is valued at ?1,05,210. The police praised the alertness and timely action of the Durga Marshal women constables, which led to the successful crackdown on liquor smuggling during dry day restrictions.
