Zone 5 police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Niketan Kadam, earned wide appreciation for their commendable efforts during the 9-day Navratri festival at Koradi Jagdamba Devi Temple and Bhavani Mata Temple, Pardi. Along with maintaining strict bandobast, Nagpur police went beyond routine duty by tracing missing persons and returning valuables lost in the heavy rush.

At Koradi temple, police successfully reunited 35 missing citizens—including women, children, and senior citizens—with their families. They also traced 13 mobile phones and 24 purses/bags containing cash and important documents, which were duly handed back to the rightful owners.
Similarly, at Bhavani Mata temple in Pardi, police traced 15 missing devotees and reunited them with their relatives. They also recovered 6 mobile phones and 8 purses/bags, ensuring their safe return.

In total, Nagpur police reunited 50 citizens with their families, and returned 19 mobile phones and 32 purses/bags during the Navratri celebrations.

The bandobast and recovery operations were carried out under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravindra Singal, Joint CP Navinchandra Reddy, and Additional CP Rajendra Dabhade. DCP Zone 5 Niketan Kadam supervised the drive along with ACPs Ankush Khedkar (Kamptee), Satyavirkumar Bandiwar (Jaripatka), Roshan Pandit (Control), Sr. PI Popat Dhayatonde (Koradi), Sr. PI Nanda Mangate (Pardi), and their teams.
Police officials stated that the initiative reflects the force’s citizen-friendly approach, responsibility, and sensitivity. Citizens have been advised to remain alert in crowded places and to promptly approach nearby police officers if they lose valuables.
