As part of the ongoing Rani Laxmibai Durga Utsav celebrations in Lakshmi Nagar, the spotlight turned to eco-conscious fashion with a vibrant show titled ‘Prakriti’. The event, curated by Prerna Gupta’s Couture, brought sustainable fabrics and designs to the forefront, blending creativity with environmental responsibility.
Models from Nagpur city and LAD College walked the ramp with poise, presenting elegant ensembles that drew loud applause from the audience. Distinguished guests and dignitaries also attended, appreciating the innovative attempt to merge aesthetics with sustainability.
Addressing the media, designer Prerna Gupta underlined the significance of shifting towards greener fashion choices. “Our fabrics consume significantly less water compared to traditional textiles. To put it in perspective, a single denim outfit uses nearly 2,700 litres of water, while our material requires only a fraction of that,” she explained, stressing the ecological advantages.
In sync with the festive atmosphere, the showcased collection included wedding and festive wear that successfully combined cultural richness with sustainable practices. The show left spectators not only captivated by the designs but also inspired to rethink fashion choices in favor of a healthier planet.
