The upcoming Winter Session of the State Legislature has been scheduled for a brief duration of two weeks, commencing on December 8 and concluding on December 19. The final confirmation on the schedule will be made by the Business Advisory Committee, which will convene in Nagpur during the session.
Taking place in the backdrop of the local body elections, the session is expected to witness heated debates on major concerns, particularly crop losses caused by excessive rainfall and the hardships faced by farmers. The opposition is preparing to mount an aggressive stand on these matters.
According to the tentative calendar, there will be 12 working days. The first week will comprise five working days, followed by a weekend recess. In the second week, the House is slated to adjourn on Friday.
On the opening day, the government will table its supplementary demands, with voting scheduled for Thursday. Additionally, around a dozen new bills are likely to be introduced during the course of the session.
