Ahead of the festive season, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) Transport Department will operate special ‘Aapli Bus’ services on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, to provide citizens with smooth and convenient travel options across the city.
The initiative aims to ease commuting during the festive rush in markets, temples, and other crowded areas. The move follows a record-breaking ridership achievement — on October 6, ‘Aapli Bus’ carried 1,82,148 passengers in a single day, marking its highest-ever count.
The special services have been planned under the direction of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, guidance of Additional Commissioner Vasumana Pant, and leadership of Deputy Commissioner and Transport Manager Rajesh Bhagat. During these two days, buses will operate on major city routes from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. (21:30 hrs).
To reduce congestion and pollution during the festival, citizens are urged to prefer public transport over private vehicles. Passengers can track real-time bus locations and schedules through the ‘NMC Chalo’ mobile app, and use digital payment options for a seamless travel experience.
With this initiative, ‘Aapli Bus’ continues its commitment to providing safe, comfortable, and eco-friendly public transport for Nagpurians during the festive period.
