Devotees across Vidarbha are preparing for a spiritually charged weekend as the holy Padukas (footwear) of Shri Sai Baba arrive in Nagpur for “Shri Sai Paduka Darshan Sohala – 2025”, a three-day celebration organized by Shri Saibaba Sansthan Vishwastha Vyavasthya, Shirdi, alongside Sadguru Sai Charitable Trust and Sai Bhakt Sewak Parivar.
The event is scheduled to take place at Chitnavis Park, Mahal from October 10 to 12, welcoming thousands of ardent followers for rituals, music, and devotion.
Grand Procession and Inaugural Celebrations
The festivities will begin on October 10 with a women’s bike rally starting from Chinchbhavan, passing through Rajiv Nagar, Narendra Nagar, Reshimbag, Gadkari Wada, and culminating into a majestic Paduka procession. Traditional dindi troupes, dhol-tasha groups, live bands, fireworks, and illuminating decorations will accompany the journey of Sai Baba’s sacred Charan Paduka to Chitnavis Park, where devotees will gather for worship.
Rituals, Music & Devotional Highlights
October 11 will open with Paduka Sthapana and Jalabhishek at 5:30 am, using holy waters sourced from sacred rivers. This will be followed by chanting of Vishnusahasranam by 51 Vedic priests, and a special Aarti conducted by the Kinnar community. The evening’s program features a devotional performance by Abhang Repost.
The concluding day, October 12, will host Sai Satcharitra Parayan, recitation of Shri Sainath Stavan Manjiri, and Gopalkala Kirtan. The event will reach its emotional crescendo with a Deepotsav featuring 51,000 lamps and a soulful musical performance by Kartiki Gaikwad.
Significance and Community Response
The arrival of Shri Sai Baba’s Padukas in Nagpur — for the first time in the city’s spiritual calendar — is expected to draw large crowds from across Vidarbha and beyond. The organizers frame the festival as both a cultural celebration and a renewal of devotion to Sai Baba’s teachings.
Officials and community leaders have urged devotees to arrive early, maintain decorum during the rituals, and respect safety protocols. Organisers are coordinating with local authorities to manage crowd movement, parking, and traffic around the Chitnavis Park premises.
