The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast light to moderate rainfall across several districts of Vidarbha for the next three days, from October 21 to 23. The rainfall activity will also extend to parts of Madhya Pradesh, the centre said.
According to RMC officials, a well-marked low-pressure area and cyclonic circulation extending from the Arabian Sea to the Bay of Bengal, along with a trough line, have created favourable conditions for rain over central India.
Despite the forecast of showers, the day temperature in Nagpur and other parts of Vidarbha has been gradually increasing, with Nagpur recording 33.6°C on Monday and 20.2°C at night. The relative humidity stood at 69% in the morning and dropped to 64% in the evening.
Among the region’s districts, Brahmapuri recorded the highest temperature at 35°C, followed by Akola (34.4°C) and Amravati (34.2°C).
RMC scientist Dr. Praveen Kumar explained that while the monsoon has completely withdrawn, the easterly winds currently prevailing over the region are maintaining dry conditions. However, the existing weather systems are likely to bring intermittent rainfall over the next few days before winter begins setting in by mid-November.
