Nagpur has witnessed a sharp decline in the prices of precious metals over the past 24 hours. The price of 24-carat gold has dropped by ₹7,400 per 10 grams, now standing at ₹1,22,100. Similarly, silver has plunged by ₹10,500 per kilogram, bringing its price down to ₹1,58,000.
The city’s bullion market experienced major fluctuations following Diwali. As the festive excitement subsided, both gold and silver prices saw record-breaking declines—creating a lucrative opportunity for buyers.
According to market sources, the price of pure 24-carat gold, which stood at ₹1,29,500 per 10 grams just a day ago, has now fallen to ₹1,22,100. Silver too witnessed a steep correction, slipping from ₹1,68,800 to ₹1,58,000 per kilogram.
Experts attribute this sudden fall to pressure in the global markets and profit booking by investors. Notably, both metals had rallied strongly over the past month, with silver crossing ₹1.84 lakh per kilogram and gold touching ₹1.31 lakh per 10 grams.
This post-Diwali correction, however, has come as welcome news for investors and buyers who missed out on purchases during the festive price surge.
