Nagpur: Despite the arrival of November, the typical winter chill has yet to be felt across Vidarbha, with temperatures still hovering above seasonal norms. However, meteorologists predict that the region will soon experience a noticeable drop in both day and night temperatures over the coming days.
According to weather experts, temperatures across Vidarbha are expected to decline by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius starting Saturday, ushering in cooler conditions. The change is attributed to cold winds from northern India, which have strengthened following recent snowfall in the Himalayan states. These winds, blowing at around 10 kmph, are expected to bring a further dip of 3 to 4 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures after November 11.
Clear Skies After Light Rain
Following light rainfall earlier this week, skies over the region have remained clear and dry, creating favourable conditions for the cold air to set in. Meteorologists say the upcoming spell of chilly weather will not only affect Vidarbha but also other parts of Maharashtra.
Current Temperature Trends
As of Thursday, the average daytime temperature across Vidarbha ranged between 30°C and 33°C. In Nagpur, the maximum temperature rose slightly to 31.9°C, while the minimum settled at 19.4°C. The highest temperature in the region was recorded at Brahmapuri, which touched 33.9°C.
Experts expect the winter chill to intensify gradually in the coming week, marking the true onset of the season across central India.
